Pittsburgh native Claire Niederberger is an established performer, collaborator, and educator in the Houston area. She is currently pursuing a Certificate in Music Performance at the University of Houston, where she also completed her Master’s degree. She received her Bachelor of Music from the University of Michigan. Her primary teachers include Kirsten Yon, Stephen Shipps, and Lorien Benet Hart. A versatile performer, Claire is active as an orchestral and chamber player and is most passionate about contemporary music in all ensemble settings. She plays with the AURA contemporary ensemble, which frequently collaborates with other art forms to create dynamic, multidisciplinary performances. She has been granted opportunities to premiere works in Italy, Canada, and across the United States, and has worked with musicians from the Bang on a Can All-Stars, Eighth Blackbird, and the JACK quartet. Recent festival appearances include the Bang on a Can Summer Music Festival, Cortona Sessions for New Music, and Orford Academy. In her free time, she loves traveling, baking, and hot yoga-ing.
